Kevin Vallejos looks to take down another top-15 UFC featherweight contender.

The promotion announced on Friday that Vallejos is set to face Josh Emmett in the main event of UFC Vegas 114, which takes place March 14 at the UFC’s Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

After going on an impressive five-fight win streak that led to an interim title fight, Emmett has dropped four of his past five bouts. The 40-year-old suffered a submission losses against Yair Rodriguez in the interim championship bout at UFC 284 in February 2023, and in his most recent bout against Youssef Zalal at UFC 320 in October, along with suffering decision losses to Ilia Topuria and Lerone Murphy. Emmett’s lone win during the five-fight run is a brutal knockout of Bryce Mitchell at UFC 296 in December 2023.

Vallejos is one of the top prospects in the entire sport, and entered the UFC rankings after just three octagon appearances after knocking out Giga Chikadze at UFC Vegas 112 in December. The 24-year-old’s lone loss in 18 bouts came via decision to Jean Silva in their classic bout on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2023. Vallejos earned wins in his first two promotional contests against Seung Woo Choi and Danny Silva.
