JONNY EVANS has left his role as Manchester United head of loans after less than six months.
Evans, 37, retired at the end of last season but stayed at United to oversee their loan deals.
However, the Northern Ireland international has decided he wants to spend more time with his family and is uncertain about what his next move will be.
United sources insist the departure is “amicable”.
Evans’s exit brings to an end a 19-year association with his boyhood club.
The former centre back joined United’s academy at the age of ten and he established himself in the first team squad in 2008 before leaving for West Brom in 2015.

Evans clinched three Premier League titles during his spells at Old Trafford, while he was also part of United’s Champions League-winning squad in 2008.
He rejoined United after he was released by Leicester City in 2023 and helped the club win the FA Cup in 2024.
Evans initially came back on a short-term deal after training with the U21s to gain fitness.
But he ended up featuring in 43 games over two years under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, becoming a mainstay under the Dutchman in particular.
The academy graduate was a guest on Monday Night Football last month and analysed Amorim’s tactics.
Evans started in Amorim’s first match in charge, a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town.
His final game for the Red Devils was the 2-0 win over Aston Villa to end the season.
Christian Eriksen scored the second from the spot in that clash after Evans rejected the chance to take it in his Old Trafford farewell.
