On Saturday, the latest Misfits Boxing card went down at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Fla., headlined by the Misfits debut of former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo. “Triple C” was originally supposed to fight top influencer boxer Deen the Great, but after he pulled out, professional boxer and Euphoria star Javon “Wanna” Walton stepped in. And despite being 20 years his senior and having no professional boxing experience, Cejudo gave the 20-year-old all he could handle, using his speed to edge out a decision.
Walton came out strong, using his youth and length to keep Cejudo at the end of his range. But the former Olympic gold medalist wrestler soon figured out the television star’s timing, bouncing in and out and forcing him to miss punches while Cejudo landed his own powerful hooks. Every round was competitive, but by the end of the four rounds, two of three judges scored the contest 3-1 for Cejudo, with the dissenting judge giving Walton three rounds.
After the bout, Cejudo acknowledged that the fight was close and said that, out of respect, he’d be happy to run it back with Walton giving Walton a full training camp. But before that happens, Cejudo took the time to call out his would-be opponent.
“Man, there was somebody I was supposed to fight! Deen The Duck, where are you?!?!?!” Is he even here? Dean The Duck! There’s no Deen The Great. This dude ducked. This dude’s just having fun with his boyfriend, and it’s time for me to put his ass down.”
