HARRY MAGUIRE will miss this weekend’s FA Cup final as Manchester United’s injury woes continue.
Erik ten Hag has revealed that the England centre-back will miss the Wembley bout with injury.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Ten Hag said: “Harry Maguire is unavailable but for the rest [Mason] Mount, [Victor] Lindelof and [Anthony] Martial are available”.
When probed as to whether the star had suffered a setback in his recovery, Ten Hag reassured fans that wasn’t the case.
He added: “I don’t think so, no. It’s just that he didn’t make it and didn’t heal as we had expected.”
Maguire has been out of the Manchester United squad since late April with a muscular injury, but was hoping to return in time for this weekend’s FA Cup final with Man City.
The star will now face a race against time to return to fitness ahead of Euro 2024 this summer.
The central defender was named in Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man training squad for the tournament on Tuesday.
It’s understood that the injury is not believed to be bad enough to keep him out of Southgate’s trimmed 26-strong squad that will travel to Germany next month.
The Three Lions boss has already described Maguire’s Man Utd teammate Luke Shaw as a “long shot” to make the cut after he was called up to the squad despite carrying an injury himself.
