Former “WWE NXT” General Manager Simone Johnson, the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has recently expressed interest in getting back in the ring.
Before she became the general manager of “NXT,” Johnson competed in six matches for the developmental brand in 2023, and during an appearance on “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” With Cody Rhodes, she admitted to wanting to give professional wrestling another try.
“I hope not. I was actually just thinking about this today. I don’t think so. I have a couple injuries that I need to sort out, and then when that is done, I think so,” she explained. “I do genuinely miss actually wrestling because for my last, I think two months there, I wasn’t. So even when I was general manager, I was still actually training, I was still wrestling. But then for my last two months there, I was in so much pain that I wasn’t actually wrestling. So I do miss that.”
At the start of the year, Johnson announced that she was leaving “NXT” after choosing not to renew her contract. In the same interview with Rhodes, the 25-year-old claimed that there were “a lot of reasons” she wanted to leave WWE, with not having the ability to grow in her position in the company being one of them. Overall, Johnson has been appreciative of her time in WWE, but wanted to experience what life was like outside of the wrestling industry again.
