NAOMI OSAKA stunned fans with her incredible outfit as she began her 2025 Australian Open campaign.

The Japanese superstar, 28, made a bold entrance as she walked out onto Rod Laver Arena.

Osaka’s face was covered by a white veil and wide-brimmed hat complete with a butterfly.

While she completed her look with flared trousers and even an umbrella.

Fans were left stunned by Osaka’s entrance, with one writing on social media: “No words, Naomi Osaka.”

While a second called her attire “one of the boldest fashion choices in tennis history”.

The kit was designed by fashion guru Robert Wun and featured jellyfish-like detailing in homage to Osaka’s two-year-old daughter Shai.

Speaking to Vogue about her outfit, Osaka said: “When I look back at the players who came before me, I think about how those moments—those looks—have become memories that live forever.

“So much of the time, other people get to write our stories for us. This felt like a moment where I could write a little bit of my own.”

On her inspiration, she mentioned reading to Shai, adding: “There was an image of a jellyfish, and when I showed it to her she got so excited.”

The butterfly, meanwhile, comes from the moment one landed on her face during her run to the Australian Open title in 2021.

Osaka has previously released her own fashion lines with Nike – while she’s also had endorsement deals with luxurious brands Louis Vuitton and TAG Heuer.

And she has made a splash with several of her recent Grand Slam outfits.

At the 2024 US Open she wore a huge bow on her back as she entered Arthur Ashe Stadium.

While at last year’s Roland Garros she debuted a pink cherry blossom-themed kit.

Former British No1 Laura Robson, commentating for TNT Sports, loved Osaka’s latest bold look.

The 31-year-old said: “It’s a vibe. I love it, this is a moment.

While even Tim Henman added: “Wow, I am speechless. It’s pretty cool. Does it put pressure on your performance?”

Osaka’s actual match kit was a turquoise dress with frilly, jellyfish-like detail.

The four-time Major champion got off to a flying start, taking the first set 6-3.

But her opponent Ruzic levelled the match by taking the second set by the same scoreline – forcing a decider.

Osaka and Ruzic traded breaks early on in the third, before the former pinched it 6-4 by breaking in the crucial 10th game.
