Welcome back to The Playlist, where we sort through the noise and highlight the players who can actually help you win your week in 9-cat and points fantasy basketball leagues.
[It’s not too late to join or create a fantasy basketball league for the 2025-26 NBA season]
Whether you’re battling injuries, chasing categories and counting stats, or looking for a spark, this is your weekly snapshot of actionable adds and schedule context. Let’s cue it up for Week 7.
🎧 Who’s in My Rotation: 9-cat and points leagues
Anthony Black – PG/SG, Orlando Magic (22% rostered)
Let’s keep it simple: Black should be rostered everywhere. While I prefer him in points leagues, Black has been a near top-100 player in 9-cat formats over the past week. Despite his struggles with turnovers and making free throws, he averaged 23.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 stocks per game while shooting 53% from the floor. In a four-game week starting Monday versus the Bulls with no Paolo Banchero, keep streaming Black.
Jaylon Tyson – SF, Cleveland Cavaliers (14% rostered)
Tyson is proving to be an effective two-way player and a near top-100 asset in his second season with the Cavs. In 11 starts this season, Tyson has posted a solid line of 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.6 3-pointers per game while shooting 54.8% from the field. He’s playing 20–30 minutes regularly and giving you multi-category production with limited turnovers. I like him more for 9-cat formats in a four-game week, but he’s a reasonable option for points leagues, too.
Bilal Coulibaly – SF/PF, Washington Wizards (19% rostered)
Coulibaly is trending up in Week 7 due to the Wizards’ schedule. The opponents aren’t great, but they open the week with a Monday-Tuesday back-to-back and then play on Thursday and Saturday. That’s at least three days where fantasy managers can take advantage of his counting stats. His situation is also aided by Tre Johnson and Corey Kispert being hurt and Khris Middleton not playing in back-to-backs. Stocks are the driving force behind his fantasy value right now, but I’d be looking to stream him in points and 9-cat leagues this week.
Tre Jones – PG, Chicago Bulls (21% rostered)
I soured on Jones in High Score last week and that was a mistake. He’s established a legit sixth-man role with the Bulls and continues to be a strong source of steals and assists with a low turnover rate. Last week, Jones averaged 14 points per game, too, helping him finish as a top-90 player in 9-cat for Week 6. I think Jones is better for 9-cat because fantasy managers can realize his efficiency gains. Still, with such a high steal and assist rate, he’s useful in most 10+ team environments, especially with the Bulls playing four games in Week 7.
Miles McBride – PG/SG, New York Knicks (12% rostered)
McBride’s role has expanded with OG Anunoby’s recent hamstring injury. OG was cleared for on-court work, but he’s not quite ready to return. In the meantime, McBride is a player to consider if you’re in need of scoring in 9-cat leagues, as he’s been a top-100 player over the past two weeks and finished as a sixth-round value in Week 6. His fantasy stock is rising because of his efficiency. Deuce’s shooting splits over the past two weeks are near elite, shooting 47/49/86 with nearly 4.0 3s per game. The Knicks have some fantasy-friendly teams on deck in the Celtics, Hornets and Jazz, so he’s an option in Week 7.

Weekly schedule
Teams to target
Each team listed above plays at least three games on the lighter slate days this week – Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. If you want to be able to fit a waiver asset into your lineup, these teams are your best bet to not be wasted on your bench.
Teams to fade
The Kings are off until Wednesday and won’t play again until Saturday. I’d drop anyone besides Zach LaVine, Keegan Murray and DeMar DeRozan.
The Suns play on Tuesday and Friday, so fantasy managers will have to decide whether it’s worth holding onto Grayson Allen, Dillon Brooks and Collin Gillespie. I’d try to hold Gillespie and Brooks but understand if you have to drop them.
