DAVE JONES provided the “TV moment of 2025” by brutally shutting down Jamie Carragher during Monday Night Football.

The Sky Sports pair joined forces with Tottenham star James Maddison to cover tonight’s clash between Wolves and Manchester United.

Ahead of the match, Carragher responded to Saturday’s astonishing Mo Salah rant, during which the winger claimed to have been “thrown under the bus” by Liverpool.

Kop legend Carra, 47, was fuming with Salah’s conduct – labelling his comments “a disgrace”.

During his response to the Egyptian, the ex-Liverpool defender asked Jones: “Have I ever criticised Mo Salah on the pitch?”

Jones hilariously responded: “Well, a couple of weeks ago you said his legs had gone.”

Fans loved the exchange, with one writing on X: “What a brilliant moment of television…”

While a second called it “The moment of 2025….”

A third gushed: “10/10 tv moment. Nearly had to crack a can open.”

While another added: “Box office stuff, he’s absolutely lost it.”

Carragher made the original comment while appearing on CBS Sports for Liverpool’s shock 4-1 Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

The pundit said at the time: “The catalyst for Liverpool at the very start of the run in 2018 with Jurgen Klopp was Alisson, (Virgil) Van Dijk and Salah.

“Alisson’s injured a lot now, he doesn’t play so much. But you watch Van Dijk now, not the same player, and Mo Salah looks like his legs have gone.

“I don’t like criticising them, and I think some of the criticism of them this season as players has been harsh. You always look for leaders in your team to step up when things are not going well.

“And I’ve been critical of Salah off the pitch, I want him to come out and do an interview and speak to the Liverpool supporters about what the players are going to do, about what’s going on in the dressing room, giving the supporters hope that things are going to improve.”

During his Elland Road rant last weekend, Salah specifically referenced Carragher.

‘CARRAGHER IS GOING TO GO FOR ME AGAIN’

The veteran forward said: “I’m sorry, I know the club too well. I’ve been here many years.

“So tomorrow you’re going to find Carragher is going to go for me again, again, again. That’s fine.”

Responding on Sky Sports, Carra pulled no punches, saying: “I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the game.

“Some people have painted it as an emotional outburst, I don’t think it was.

“I think whenever Mo Salah stops in the mixed zone, which he’s done four times in eight years at Liverpool, it’s choreographed between him and his agent to cause maximum damage and to strengthen his own position.”

On the timing of Salah’s comments, Carragher added: “He did that 12 months ago and I called him out on this show about it. He played on the heartstrings of the Liverpool supporters.

“Liverpool were top of the league and he’d scored the winning goal at Southampton. That was the time to come out and put pressure on the Liverpool ownership.

“So, for the rest of the season you have banners in the crowd saying ‘Give Mo his dough’.

“He’s chosen this weekend to do this now and he’s waited for a bad result, they’ve conceded a last minute goal.

“The Liverpool supporters, the manager, the whole club feels like it is in the gutter at the moment, and he’s chosen that time to go for the manager and maybe try and get him sacked.

“That’s the way I felt about it.”
