ALEX SCOTT is ready to roar for England — just as his namesake prepares to enter the jungle.
The other Alex Scott — the one who won 140 Lionesses caps and became a TV presenter after hanging up her boots — is competing in this year’s series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
She arrived in Australia on Tuesday, bracing herself for her upcoming televised bushtucker trials.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth starlet Scott faces his own bushTuchel trial over the coming week in a bid to win a seat on the plane to next summer’s World Cup.
It follows the uncapped midfielder, who hails from Guernsey, being the shock inclusion in Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel’s latest squad to play Serbia on Thursday and Albania on Sunday.
And while he is earning plenty of headlines in his own right from his burgeoning career, it is fair to say the other Alex Scott, 41, is more well-known to the public at this stage.

Asked if he has ever had any cases of mistaken identity, the 22-year-old replied: “The other day, someone said I’ve done well getting called up and going on I’m A Celebrity at the same time!
“Obviously, Alex Scott, the female footballer, has done amazing things in an England shirt. It’s amazing for her and me to have the same name.
“I’m not sure if there’s been many, or any — if I do get on the pitch on Thursday or Sunday — that have shared the name and both played for the country.”
It has happened before, actually.
Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 – all the info
TIME for round two of this generation’s family feud!
Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn go punch-for-punch once again as both rivals look to make their fathers proud.
The blockbuster rematch takes place at the 62,000-seater Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, November 15.
Eubank Jr narrowly outpointed his bitter foe after 12 brutal rounds in April to secure the bragging rights in what was certainly a Fight of the Year contender.
And the two British superstars will dance once more as Eubank Jr aims to do the double while Benn seeks revenge after suffering a first career loss.

There were two Gary Stevens in England’s squad for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, prompting amusing fan chants of There’s only two Gary Stevens’.
Scott can be forgiven for not recalling that, given he was only born in 2003 and cites Russia 2018 as the first World Cup he “properly remembers”.
He is fully aware, though, of the women’s football boom in recent years and the role his namesake played in it — in part as his step-sister, Maya Le Tissier, is a current Lioness.
The Manchester United centre-back, 23, was one of the first to congratulate her step-sibling on his call-up.
Scott revealed: “Her advice was enjoy it and be yourself.
“When I was back home playing local football, she would never have thought I would go on to become a professional.
“She’s so pleased for me. She text me straight away.
“It’s nice to have someone around who has experienced it and been around the Lionesses.
“She can help me out with advice on playing at the top level.”
Growing up in Guernsey, Scott and Le Tissier — who, speaking of namesakes, is no relation to the island’s most famous football Matt Le Tissier — had it harder than most breaking into football.
Every Saturday, they would be on 6am flights to the mainland to play for academy teams — Southampton for Scott, Hampshire for Le Tissier — before flying home on Sunday night.
The schedule took its toll and when Saints released Scott at 14, claiming he was too small, the youngster fell out of football.
But his struggles at school — he failed PE — left him at a loss over what he could do.
Scott joined Guernsey FC, where he began running rings around fully-grown men.
It led to a trial with Bristol City — where he scored a hat-trick — which in turn saw him join the Robins.
Asked how an England squad member could flunk PE, Scott protested: “The written coursework! I passed English and maths though.
“Six years ago, I was playing non-league and wasn’t sure I was going to make it as a football player, so to be in the England squad is a dream come true.
“I’m grateful to all the coaches, my family and everyone who helped me.”
Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 – shortly after wowing Pep Guardiola in an FA Cup clash against Manchester City, a feat that saw him dubbed ‘the Guernsey Grealish’.
After initial injury struggles, he has morphed into an energetic No 8, who caught Tuchel’s eye due to his partnership with Elliot Anderson in England’s successful Under-21s Euros win last summer.
Should he make his Three Lions bow in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, he would follow in the footsteps of fellow male Channel Islanders Graeme Le Saux, of Jersey, and Saints icon Le Tissier.
Scott has not met either but added: “I’ve seen clips of Matt and his goals. He was an unbelievable player who came from the island.

“But I’ve got to try and match him.”
