Dominick Cruz and Keith Peterson, friends?

The animosity between the two appears to have cooled if Cruz’s social media activity is to be believed. The former UFC bantamweight champion and current UFC color commentator shared a few images of himself and Peterson from Saturday’s UFC Vegas 114 event in Las Vegas, where Cruz stood face to face and side by side with his longtime officiating nemesis.

“You can run but you can’t hide,” Cruz wrote in an accompanying caption.

Cruz has frequently criticized Peterson’s refereeing capabilities ever since Cruz suffered a technical knockout loss to Henry Cejudo in a bantamweight championship bout at UFC 249 in May 2020, a contest that Peterson officiated. Cejudo had Cruz hurt late in the second round and Peterson stepped in to wave off the bout with just two seconds left on the clock, immediately drawing Cruz’s ire.

Time did not heal those wounds as Cruz recently went into further detail on Demetrious Johnson’s MightyCast show, where he called Peterson a “complete f*ck-up.” Peterson has never publicly responded to Cruz’s accusations and insults.

Now, at least, there is peace between the two, or enough for them to pose for a photo op anyway. Cruz also teased the possibility of Peterson appearing on his Love and War podcast, which has featured past Cruz rivals Urijah Faber and T.J. Dillashaw.
