White made it clear he disagrees with that version of events.
When asked about the situation, White responded with a challenge of his own.
“Watch what happens over the next 30 days,” said White.
The Zuffa Boxing CEO was then pressed on claims that contracts for the fight reportedly state that Zuffa will not be the lead promoter.
White appeared amused by the suggestion.
“Do you believe that I would publicly lie?”
He continued by questioning why he would make such statements publicly if they were not true.
“What would be the point of that?”
The comments come after weeks of speculation surrounding the long-awaited heavyweight showdown. White has repeatedly spoken as though Zuffa Boxing is involved in the event, while figures connected to Fury and Joshua have publicly pushed back against that narrative.
White suggested the full picture will become clearer soon.
“They specifically said that the contract states that Zuffa Boxing cannot promote that. I would publicly lie and then look like an idiot in front of everybody?”
The Fury-Joshua fight remains one of the biggest potential events in boxing, and White’s latest comments are unlikely to quiet the debate.
Earlier in the press conference, White also took a swipe at Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn while discussing other business matters.
“Congratulations again, Eddie. You sound stupid again.”
White appears content to let the speculation continue while maintaining that developments are coming. If his prediction proves accurate, the next month could provide answers to one of boxing’s biggest ongoing questions.
