Maddalena throws a jab and Prates kicks, but both misses. Prates with a calf kick. Prates circling with his back against the octagon as Maddalena presses him. Maddalena jabs and lands one to the body. Maddalena with a nice left to the body again. Prates responds, but Maddalena keeps working his hands. Maddalena throws a head kick and Prates fires a heavy leg kick. Prates with a solid jab that connects, and he’s getting more comfortable in the fight. Three minutes in and Prates is more aggressive now.
Maddalena tries to clinch against the fence but Prates wants none of that. Prates with a solid 1-2 followed by a knee. And another knee to the body. Prates keeping his hands low, so comfortable. but Maddalena now gets him down with 25 seconds left but doesn’t do much.

”This motherf*cker’s already shown what he wants, he wants to take you down,” Prates cornerman tells him after round 1. “Don’t fall for his antics, he’s not your friend.”
Maddalena walking forward and more aggressive as round starts. Prates connects a knee to the head and Maddalena tries to catch his leg. Prates keeping his hands low as Maddalena throws jabs. Maddalena shoots for a double leg takedown and gets it, working to go to Prates back, but Prates is back to his feet. Prates with another knee to the head. Prates misses another knee and Maddalena makes him pay for it, landing a right hand. Prates’ jabs keep getting through his defense. Maddalena connects with an uppercut with Prates leaving himself open with his hands down.
Maddalena eats a combo and Prates lands a head kick. Maddalena is hurt but fires back with one to the chin! Prates with a jumping knee but ends with his butt on the ground. He’s back to his feet right away. Prates jabs Maddalena’s face and another calf kick clearly damaging Maddalena’s lead leg. Prates with an absurd elbow to the head. Maddalena is down as round ends, courtesy of another calf kick, and he limps back to the corner.

He tries an upside elbow and Maddalena ducks under to dodge and try a takedown. Prates defends, and makes him pay with strikes to the body. Maddalena can’t find an answer to Prates’ striking. Maddalena has blood all over his face.
Maddalena GOES DOWN twice as Prates hurts him with kicks and elbows, but he won’t quit! Prates with another knee and elbow, and Maddalena just won’t go down now. Prates drops him with two calf kicks and follows him to the ground to ground and pound with brutal elbows and force the stoppage. What a masterclass by Prates!
