ASVEL president Tony Parker welcomed several potential investors to Lyon on Wednesday, including Joey and Jesse Buss, Le Progrès reported.
The sons of late Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss visited the French club as Parker continues exploring opportunities to bring new investors into ASVEL’s ownership structure. Jesse previously served as the Lakers’ director of scouting, while Joey was president of the franchise’s G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Both left the organization in November 2025.
The meetings come at a crucial point for ASVEL, with Parker preparing for his first season as head coach while also working to complete the roster. Reported moves for Sylvain Francisco, Armoni Brooks, Daniel Theis and Nick Weiler-Babb have not materialized, while Mbaye Ndiaye has joined Olympiacos.
Patty Mills, Edwin Jackson, Both Gach, Nate Sestina, Yves Pons, Joel Bolomboy and Bodian Massa are currently under contract. ASVEL therefore still have considerable work to do before beginning their EuroLeague campaign on September 24, followed by the start of the French league two days later.
