The Vision was out in full force on this week’s “WWE Raw,” but one important character in the group was absent — Paul Heyman, whose absence Bully Ray doesn’t mind.
Heyman has been a part of The Vision since its inception, when the group was led by Seth Rollins. But over the last few weeks, he has been in the shadows, with Bron Breakker taking full control of the faction. After his win against Oba Femi at Sunday Night’s Main Event, Breakker once again led from the front on “Raw,” with Heyman being away from the group, something Ray believes adds more to it.
“I liked The Vision standing in the ring a lot more without Paul Heyman. There was something about Paul not being there, and I think it goes back to star power. Without Paul there, I’m not distracted by Paul, who is the bigger star,” said Ray on “Busted Open.” “I’m not waiting for Paul to speak. Now I’m waiting for The Vision to speak for themselves. I’m concentrating on the five of them.”
Ray asserted that Heyman can step out of the spotlight, but still feels that The Vision looked better without Heyman in the frame. While he acknowledged that he is in favor of the current version sans Heyman, he hopes that it stays the same, as The Vision has been ridden with bad luck due to injuries.
“The five of them on their own really resonated with me. And I like what they had to say. And I liked this version as of right now. And I say as of right now, because as we’ve seen in the past, anything can happen with it,” Ray added.
Heyman has primarily featured as a background character in The Vision’s storyline in recent weeks, which he did this week as well, appearing in a backstage segment with the group where he seemingly challenged Breakker to end Oba Femi once and for all.
