Bahcesehir is the first semifinalist of the BKT EuroCup, as they defeated Cluj-Napoca on their home court with a score of 75-72 after a thrilling game.
Malachi Flynn was the top scorer for the winning team with 16 points and ten rebounds, Balsa Koprivica added 12 points, while Travante Williams scored 11 points with 16 rebounds. On the other side, Daron Russell was clearly the best with 23 points, while Nighael Ceasar added 12 points along with ten rebounds.
The match in Istanbul was decided after a great drama. The visitors came back from a deficit, reached a lead, and were close to victory, but Tyler Cavanaugh’s three-pointer with 24 seconds left gave his team the advantage (73-71). The visitors had an opportunity to tie the game, and with three seconds left, Ceasar was fouled.
Unfortunately for Cluj-Napoca, he missed the first free throw and accidentally made the second, which made it clear that Bahcesehir would advance to the semifinals. Cavanaugh then made two free throws, and the visitors didn’t even manage to shoot, so in the end, Bahcesehir secured the victory.
In the semifinals, Bahcesehir will play against the winner of the duel between Besiktas and Trento.
