Alongside confirming David Holston, Laurent Legname, and Fred Wiscart-Goetz to stay within next year’s roster, JDA Bourgogne Dijon officially announced the return to the team of Axel Julien.
Only a few hours after being eliminated by AS Monaco in the LNB Semi-Finals, the 31-year-old playmaker left JL Bourg-en-Bresse, where he had been playing since 2021. He went close to the BKT EuroCup title this season, losing only to Paris Basketball in the Finals.
“I always had in the back of my mind the hypothesis that a return would be possible one day to this club. It’s done and I’m really happy about it. My family and I hope that we will experience emotions at least as strong as during my first 6 years in Dijon. I can’t wait to continue writing my story with this club that I love so much”, he first said.
In the 2023-24 season, JDA Bourgogne Dijon finished the domestic season out of the playoff picture in 9th position in the LNB. In the Basketball Champions League, they ended their season in the Round of 16 after finishing the Regular Season with a 5-1 record. They also won the Coupe de France.
