ASVEL’s turbulent offseason continues following the revision of the club’s projected budget and the departure of Sylvain Francisco.
The French club owes approximately €1.2 million related to the 2025-26 season after its player spending fell below the minimum level required under EuroLeague’s Financial Stability and Fair Play Regulations.
Under the Competitive Balance Standards, the difference between ASVEL’s actual spending and the required Low Remuneration Level must be distributed among the players registered with the team last season.
If the outstanding amount is not settled, ASVEL may be prevented from registering players and coaches for the 2026-27 EuroLeague season until it fulfills its obligations.
The issue adds further uncertainty to a project that underwent a major budget revision after initially announcing several high-profile additions.
Francisco has already left the club and joined Panathinaikos, while the futures of other summer signings remain unclear.
ASVEL president Tony Parker previously acknowledged that the organization would have to make decisions regarding its roster following the change in financial circumstances.
