ADAM SMITH was “talking normally” after being patched up following a horror collision with his own Bournemouth team-mate Tylder Adams.
The pair collided in mid-air just three minutes into the match against Aston Villa.
Smith was left bleeding after suffering a gash to the head, and was immediately substituted.
Cherries boss Andoni Iraola was worried for his player’s wellbeing, but confirmed after the match he was talking normally.
He provided an update on Smith’s condition, saying: “It was a really hard knock between them. We were in doubt if even Tyler could continue.
“I think with Adam it was quite clear with the doctors straight away because he was bleeding a lot and it did not look good.

“Now I’m more calm because I have been talking to him after the game.
“He remembered everything, he was talking normally, and I hope it is not as bad.
“But with these knocks you have to wait.”
The match was halted for several minutes as Villa stars rushed to Smith’s aid before medics entered the pitch.
They provided Smith with medical attention for several minutes and fans around the ground stood to applaud him being taken off.
Adams was able to continue but Smith required stitches, team-mate Lewis Cook revealed.
He said: “Everyone in the dressing room feels for Smudge. He’s such an important player for us, not just for what he brings on the pitch, but for his leadership and experience.
“He’s a warrior and it was a worrying moment, but he’s in the dressing room, had some stitches and is talking so hopefully it’s nothing serious and he’s okay.”
