Dvalishvili vs. Yan took place Dec. 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Merab Dvalishvili (21-5) and Petr Yan (20-5) squared off in the main event clash. The fight aired live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.

Yan immediately goes forward, he’s not waiting for Dvalishvili to dictate the pace. Whoa, good right from Dvalishvili to kick off the action. Another right and then a left hook from Dvalishvili, he’s looking like Holloway in there. What is going on tonight?
Yan getting his jab going. Jab from Dvalishvili and he follows with a right hand. He marches Yan to the fence. Yan keeps pumping that jab in. Dvalishvili really headhunting, not sure that’s the best strategy. And right on cue, Yan cracks him with a counter right. Dvalishvili with a single leg, trip, switch to a body lock, and Yan fights him off. Incredible takedown defense on display.
Dvalishvili staying glued to Yan’s back, but Yan staying on his feet. He gets the separation with 45 seconds remaining and if Dvalishvili doesn’t land something substantial, this is Yan’s round. Takedown attempt from Dvalishvili and he takes Yan to the fence. Round 1 to the challenger.

Dvalishvili to the wrestling early. Yan holding strong, but Dvalishvili is relentless. Shades of their first fight already.
Dvalishvili gives up on the single leg and they’re back to boxing. Lots of volume from Dvalishvili. Yan with a jab and a left hook. Looked like there might have been a clash of heads there. Yan’s boxing is on point right now, that jab is killing Dvalishvili. Yan with a shot and he puts Dvalishvili on his back. Wicked scramble by Dvalishvili to reverse the position, whoa.
Now it’s Yan with the Granby Roll to keep Dvalishvili off of him and get the fight back to the feet. Dvalishvili hanging on, he targets Dvalishvili’s neck. Dvalishvili gets the head free and takes the action back to center. Yan’s jab keeps Dvalishvili at bay for a moment before Dvalishvili shoots right back in. He’s attacking a single leg, switches to a back take and tries to yank Yan down, but Yan stays up. Yan with a jab and a cracking right. He’s starting to let that right hand go. They trade jabs to close the round, which probably goes to Yan again.

Yan kicks the body. Dvalishvili ventures in with a right that connects, then goes for a guillotine, and Yan just slams him. This is wild.
Hard left to Dvalishvili’s chin, he just eats it. Dvalishvili deep on a takedown and he just picks Yan up over his shoulder and plays to the crowd. Big slam, but Yan right back up. Dvalishvili not able to control him, but the pressure is somehow only increasing. How the hell does he do this?
Dvalishvili with punches and bunches in Yan’s grill. Even with Yan being the sharper striker, Dvalishvili’s activity is giving him the edge. Great sprawl from Yan to stuff a takedown. Yan lands a punch as Dvalishvili spins away. Dvalishvili taunting Yan now. Yan working to reestablish the jab, but Dvalishvili fighting through it. Dvalishvili with a body shot, he’s staying busy.
Dvalishvili coming forward, coming forward, coming forward. Huge body kick by Yan and Dvalishvili looks hurt. Could that have decided the round?

Leg kick from Yan to start this round. Dvalishvili flicking his left hand out, he lands a right to the body. Overhand right by Dvalishvili, then another body shot into a takedown attempt. Slick reversal by Yan who is looking to lift Dvalishvili up again. He settles for taking Dvalishvili down, Dvalishvili attacking with a guillotine. Yan rotating to stay out of danger and he’s out and on top.
Yan with a body lock from behind. He knees Dvalishvili’s body. Inside leg kick from Yan. Yan rifling in that jab. Pressure from Dvalishvili and he goes for a single leg, Yan stays up and punches him back. Counter left from Yan, then a right that has Dvalishvili circling away. Yan kicks the body and he smells blood. Another one, Yan is locked in. Left hook scores for Yan. He stuffs another takedown and backs Dvalishvili with a body shot.
Dvalishvili answers with a body shot and two good punches up top. He’s landing, but Yan’s accuracy is giving him the advantage. Yan spins into a left hook, that was weird and cool.

Low kicks from Yan just pushing Dvalishvili back. Yan sticks him with a jab. Inside low kick from Yan. Dvalishvili with a lot of movement, but not seeing much offense. Yan rips the body. Dvalishvili clubs him with a short elbow and Yan hits him with a right for his troubles. Yan stuffs a takedown and hits a counter left. Leg kick catches Dvalishvili, who is somehow unaffected. Time is ticking away with three minutes remaining…
Dvalishvili with another good elbow inside and he goes for a takedown. Lots of effort from Dvalishvili but Yan stays up. Yan with a left in close,then a jab as they return to center. Dvalishvili finding a home for that short elbow, maybe could have gone to that earlier. Guillotine choke attempt and Yan just tackles Dvalishvili. Dvalishvili quickly back up. A little over a minute left.
Yan kicks the body and Dvalishvili immediately backs up. Knee inside by Yan after another stuffed takedown. Another body kick by Yan. Both men throwing to end the fight and Yan caps it off with a successful takedown. This one is over.
