The Miami Dolphins have turned to their running game in recent weeks and it has yielded success. With De’Von Achane putting up big numbers and the Dolphins defense hitting its stride, the team may finally be set up to win in the cold.
They’ll need to do that Sunday against the New York Jets with forecasts calling for a game in the 30s or low 40s.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has yet to win a start in his career when the temperature is below 46 at kickoff. However, he is undefeated against the Jets, so something has to give.
Here are the most enticing prop plays going into this AFC East rivalry matchup.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle OVER 5.5 receptions (+115)
Waddle has been extremely efficient against New York in his career, catching 48 of 62 targets in his matchups against them. In the time since Tyreek Hill’s season-ending injury, Waddle has been targeted at least six times in all but one game.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa UNDER 28.5 attempts (+100)
Considering Tagovailoa’s struggles in cold-weather games and the Dolphins’ recent success on the ground, there’s not much reason to believe Miami will want to air it out Sunday. He has not exceeded 25 passing attempts in the last three games and that shouldn’t change against the Jets.
Dolphins RB De’Von Achane OVER 81.5 rushing yards (-118)
This is an extremely low figure considering Achane has gone over 120 rushing yards in each of his last three games and enters week 14 as the NFL’s fourth leading rusher. He is averaging a career-best 86.2 rushing yards per game this season and has shown no signs of slowing down heading into the final month of the season.
Dolphins WR Malik Washington over 22.5 receiving yards (-115)
In his first six games of the season, Washington averaged just 11.5 yards per game. However, in his latest six, that number has spiked considerably to 32.5. Washington could be utilized plenty as a short route option and is able to create yards after contact and make the first man miss.
Jets QB Tyrod Taylor OVER 183.5 passing yards (-115)
In four starts this season, Taylor has racked up more than 190 passing yards. If the Dolphins get out to a lead early against the Jets, he’ll likely be looking to Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie often in an effort to keep pace.
Jets WR Adonai Mitchell OVER 48.5 receiving yards (-115)
Mitchell is coming off a career game last week when he recorded 102 yards on eight receptions and scored a touchdown. With Garrett Wilson sidelined again, Mitchell should see a fair share of targets and it’d be a surprise if the Dolphins managed to keep him under 50 yards.
Jets RB Breece Hall anytime TD (-115)
Hall is having a solid rushing season for New York with career-bests in yards per game with 69.5 and attempts with 15.6. While Miami has tightened up in yardage allowed to running backs, Hall is too big of a factor in the Jets’ offense to pass up.
